Stockbridge Pipe Band welcome beginners and novices wishing to learn the arts of piping and drumming in a pipe band context. We are happy teaching adults and children of varying abilities and adopt an equal opportunities policy with all learners and encourage tuition of all ages.
Our band tutors are all competing band members who hold Basic Disclosure and we also engage experienced tutors from outwith the band to assist in our tuition and learning.
Learners are taught initially on a one-to-one basis, moving into smaller groups as they gain experience before beginning to play the pipes and drums in a pipe band context.
We have a number of band members who are non-competing and are happy to encourage players of all abilities to attain a high standard of pipe band playing. We undertake a wide variety of engagements throughout the year and are able to generally offer something for everyone to enjoy. All we ask is for regular attendance and a commitment to improving.
